From a favorite poem by Margaret Singer in her book "The Company of Crows"
Youngster
Of course I can get from here to there
zip
straight as any crow can fly
But what's my hurry?
There must be time to roll, to flip
to dive, to dip
to glide instead of flurry
through wide and waiting sky.

Old crow watchin' hungrily
ReplyDeleteFrom his post in yonder tree
And in my garden I'm as free
As that feathered thief up there.
