One of our favorite places for camping is the Tom Sawyer RV Park.
You can camp right on the banks of the Mississippi and watch the tugs and barges all day and all night.

In the photo Norm and a new friend are watching the coast guard board one of these barges. An event that call for the binoculars!
Was it on Fox News?????

Outside the country store at Casey Jones place there are railroad cars. One where I am standing is a law office! There is Elvis music playing outside the music stores in the array. There are some amazing musical instruments for sale here. There ia motel next door that offers some railroad cars for overnight stay. We visited on a Wednesday and the place wa packed with people. ( School vacation week).

Here is a little village that celebrates the life of Casey Jones. There are old railroad cars, restaurant, shops, even a church! The food is buffet all you can eat. Local foods at the country store include homemade bread, free range eggs, locally smoked ham and bacon. This is all built around Casey's home which has become a museum. In the store there is a wood carver who makes animals while you watch. The eagle pictured took several years in the making.

Crow Feather Journey 2012

Departing on March 5th we are headed for a family wedding in Johnson City TN on March 11th. The first night we spent in a motel in New Platz NY. It was 22 degrees and all the campgrounds
were not yet open for the season!
In just four days we arrived in Jonesborough TN for the wedding.
